I taught 5th
Grade at
Whitesville
Junior High
School in
Whitesville WV
for 16 years in
a self-contained
classroom. The
school had three
floors. My room
203, was on the
second floor.
I was the only
5th grade
teacher my first
year but in
the second year
they hired
another 5th
grade teacher, Mrs.
Donna Bailey
which I really
enjoyed working
with. We used to
switch Social
Studies and
Science classes,
I would teach
Social Studies
and she would
teach science.
We also had Gym
class together.
I also taught
computers to the
8th Grade. In
doing so I had
to give up one
of classes, so I
give up Science.
While at
Whitesville I a
taught a Tennis
class to Trish
Thompson and
Jerri Johnson.
In April 1990 my
mother died and
I resigned from
my teaching
position and
moved back home
to PA.
In the
next two years I
subbed 26 days from
9-1990 to 3-1991 at
three different
school
districts, Greenville,
Reynolds, and
Sharpsville, all
in elementary except
one junior high
school.
In 1994 and 1995
I taught
computers to the
high school
students at Sharon
Christian
Academy
in Sharon PA..
Next I taught a
Multi-Media
Class
at Lane Bible
College in
Transfer.
In 2019 and 2020
I taught
2
classes on the
History of Camp
Reynolds
at
Slippery Rock
University‘s
Institute for
Learning in
Retirement.
I also taught
several individual
computer classes
at my place over
the years.
