* Attended a couple of my dad's ship's reunion, the destroyer USS
  McGowan DD678 and got to meet the captain and some of his
  shipmates.
* in 1960 our elementary school took the students up to Route 18,
   one mile away where we lined the road and saw Republican
   Presidential Candidate Richard Nixon drive by in a convertible
   while campaigning in the area. I was in the 4th grade.
